Travel ban easing prompts tourist wave The relaxing of travel bans has prompted a wave of tourists heading to Turkey. Antalya, a favourite with Russians, Germans and other Europeans, welcomed a surge of visitors in June, including 110,000 Russians in a week. Turkey reaches out to Russia in its bid for the moon Turkey's space programme only began 18 months ago, but it's already making giant leaps. The head of Turkey's space agency has confirmed he is in talks with several countries about progressing Turkey's bid to reach the moon in 2023. Turkish tourism hub Antalya ready for summer In the southern Mediterranean resort city of Antalya, more than a million people have now been vaccinated by Turkish health workers against COVID-19. Administered to more than 73% of the target population, more than one million doses have been given out, the provincial health director for Antalya, Unal Hulur, has said.22 June 2021
Turkey steps up vaccines, giving 1m each day The Turkish government has ramped up its Covid-19 vaccine response, doling out a million each day, about 10 times the rate up until June. In response, investment bank JP Morgan has revised its economic forecast for Turkey from 6.1% to 6.8%. The vaccination effort is also prompting hope for Turkey's tourist season.20 June 2021

Turkish rapid delivery service, Getir, launches in Amsterdam The online fast delivery company, Getir, meaning ‘bring’, founded in Turkey, has now begun to provide its service in the Netherlands, after entering into the Amsterdam market. This comes following the inauguration of operations within London, the founder of Getir explained on Friday.20 June 2021
Growing interest by investors in Turkish start-ups Data from January through to April of this year show that foreign and domestic investors are continuing to show a great deal of interest in Turkish start-up companies. During the four-month period of this year, 161 angel investors, corporate venture capital investors and venture capital companies made investments in Turkish start-ups.15 June 2021
Turkish houses sales up as property demand soars Demand for property is up. As well as domestic property buyers, who are returning to the market with enthusiasm, the number of foreign buyers is also up, year on year. Turkey leads the world for property price growth Knight Frank's latest Global House Price Index has shown that over the 56 countries it examined, house prices are rising faster than they have done since before the global financial crisis. Around the world, this has triggered a market frenzy, prompting a 7.3% rise in the average global house price in the year to March.07 June 2021
